Alternate Educational Methodologies

cbse International boarding school in India

Kāsiga offers a range of teaching methods that provide a more impactful learning experience for students whilst additionally catalysing ‘team building’ and ‘camaraderie’. Apart from the regular variety of methods employed in the classrooms, learning takes place through a multitude of activities and workshops organised by us. They also provide platforms for satisfying collaborative learning experiences which leave positive and long lasting effects on the child.

Let’s look at a few of the initiatives taken by the us that have made learning a worthwhile experience for the students.

Scholastic Supplementary Reading Programme

To provide the students with the opportunity of making reading a hobby
whereby they explore the joys of Literature and travel to fantasy lands, becoming characters of an author’s creativity, Kāsiga collaborated with Scholastic India and implemented this programme for the students of grades 4 to 8. Students learned to maintain Reading Logs, share stories, make character analysis and discuss meanings of vocabulary as well as their interpretations of situations. This has initiated the habit of reading among students for life. The result of this programme was that many became avid readers.

Callido Workshop

The Callido Workshop was an immersive session that introduced the students to the computer languages that were employed throughout the session. Its curriculum fused off-line activities and on-line modules which actively kept the students creatively engaged. Sessions were conducted throughout by the teachers which helped reinforce and build upon the learning initiative.

Life Skills Programme

In our endeavour to support the personal needs of the students, we collaborated with a Delhi-based organisation, Pravah, which conducts workshops to develop the understanding of the self, relationships and society in an inter-connected way. The sessions revolved around recognizing and practising active listening and empathy as the core life skills in personal and school based spaces. This helped the students appreciate others, be patient and become more empathetic with their peers and juniors.

Etiquette Workshop

Kāsiga conducted a session on dining etiquette. The session was led by Ms. Manik Kaur, etiquette and grooming coach. She is known for spreading awareness on the importance of right etiquette, moral values and grooming.

CREYA

Creya is an experiential learning programme that focuses on developing 21st century skills among children. It is based on STEM – integration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This Project based learning is fostered in the Creya Studio through model making projects, challenges and capstones. Creya helps develop interpersonal communication and a spirit of collaboration while honing the creative and critical thinking among participants.

Mind Spark

When it comes to Alternate Educational Methodologies, Kāsiga went digital to make Mathematics more interesting for the students through Mind Spark, a computer based online self-learning tool that helps students improve their Mathematical skills by providing them a learning path, based on their needs.
