School Policies

Boarding Policy

Kāsiga School is a fully residential school where boarding is fundamental to the overall development of children into responsible global citizens.

Residential Goals

  • To encourage an atmosphere of openness whereby each boarder feels that he or she is an indispensable member of the learning community.
  • To provide suitable conditions to develop the individual and intellectual talents through interactions and structured prep, in an atmosphere of camaraderie.
  • To organize a range of age-appropriate activities, hobbies and opportunities that will foster personal, social and cultural development of each individual.
  • To safeguard the welfare of each boarder by providing a secure and healthy environment that is free from hazards or danger.
  • To provide comfortable accommodation that ensures adequate privacy
  • To develop a sense of responsibility for self, for others and for their environment.

Counselling Policy

Counselling is an integral part of pastoral care at Kāsiga. It’s our credo that patient listening and a mature presentation of various perspectives go a long way in shaping the emotional intelligence of young students.

The School Counsellor helps students gain awareness of the self and also the situations they are facing and help them develop strategies to cope with change especially in a residential setting. The Counsellor acts as an enabler, and the students are encouraged to speak out their feelings and emotions without interference or judgement.  This helps the students to give expressions to their apprehensions, if any, freely and also introspect. The Counsellor equips them with essential life skills to take charge of their lives, with a nudge here and a guidance there.

Individual Counselling

One-on-one counselling is provided to the students on a regular basis. It takes place in the counsellor’s office whenever the need arises.

Group Counselling

Group sessions are conducted to inculcate values and ethics for life and to address common problems of growing up, life skill issues.

Kāsiga has a clear and unambiguous  policy regarding treatment of other members of the school community. Dignity and respect form the foundation of human interaction at Kāsiga. Every member of the community including the admin team is trained to prevent harassment/ bullying/ abuse. They are educated and equipped to apply appropriate investigative methodology and remedial measures. Meetings, workshops and video sessions are organised at regular intervals to keep every new member abreast of the same.
