Student Council

Kāsiga, Residential school in Uttarakhand India has an effective prefectorial system that empowers students to develop appropriate skills, attitudes and values for being leaders. Prefects are chosen through a democratic and intensive process. Students vote through a fair, online system at their own discretion. The overall process involves nominations and a series of interviews with the Head of School and Senior Management Team.

The Prefectorial Body consists of the Head Boy, Head Girl, Deputy Head Boy, Deputy Head Girl, Academic Prefects and Student Welfare Prefects who are appointed by the school, and elected House Prefects. Each House has a House Captain and a House Prefect. Besides these there is a Sports Captain and a Cultural Captain.

Prefects are mentored by senior staff members including the Head of School. The school provides them with training and opportunities for interaction with professionals who can inspire and guide them to be good leaders.

Prefects have a three-fold responsibility; to be student leaders, to be worthy role models and also act as ambassadors of the School. It is an appropriate opportunity for young leaders of tomorrow to learn the ropes of leadership, maintain discipline and appropriate ethos among the student community and endorse Kāsiga as a leading residential school not only in Uttarakhand or India but across the entire globe.
