Head Of School

“Jinko ho fursat woh karein aur khudaon ki talash, hum toh shaagirdon ko duniya ka khuda kehte hain.”

{Those in leisure may seek Lords,  for we call disciples {children}, Lord of the world.}

During the last few decades, there has been an intellectual revolution in the way ‘quality’ and ‘excellence’ in education, educational system, and educational institutions have been perceived and aspired to. Boarding schools are often confronted with immensely prevalent rah-rah about holistic, modern, or quality education. Howbeit, the desire for such education keeps aspiring parents on their toes incessantly, in search of better schools for their wards’ education without realizing that the ecology of school systems that we witness is a microcosm of the world, which in itself is a product of our thinking and social fabric. Therefore, the existent ecology cannot be transformed without changing our thinking, interpretation of education, or the quality of education per se.
Being a force to reckon with, Kasiga School receives students from diverse geographies, cultures, backgrounds with various abilities, challenges, and struggles that their parents feel are hindrances to their wards’ latent potential. This makes them anticipate and drawn to this bright seat of learning. To beholders, the beauty of this academy is not restricted to its manicured lawns but to a caring and compassionate community that thrives on handholding budding learners in all spheres of boarding life ranging from physical, spiritual, cognitive, social, cultural, and emotional paradigms through a well thought and structured programs. Accordingly, in wake of novice demands and obstacles of contemporary pandemic times, the pastoral and trans-academic transactions at the institutional level are undergoing changes that are either persistent or intermittent. Without fluidity, education cannot remain relevant and effective. It is bound to crash in its role as a potent instrument of social as well as national transformation if we remain devoid of curetted quality education system modules through new practices and innovations. The whole institutional education system will go for naught thereby reaching a frozen status quo that oozes outdated, useless, and irrelevant observance and practices in education that are performed merely as rituals. Finding coherence to this, Peter Druker said it so well… “There is nothing as useless as doing efficiently which should not be done at all”.
Education is about capacity building that liberates learners {सा विद्या या विमुक्तये} as then they don’t have to depend on others. It is a transformation of learners from dependence to independence since liberation is a hallmark of the strong-willed, proficient, and adept. Our vision stands clear only when we look into our hearts as one who looks outside dreams; who looks inside, awakens.  Aligned aptly to this, subsequent to my induction at Kasiga, education as a force is approached via contemplation that encompasses self-awareness, practice instead of preaching, surrender to the ebb and flow in the able hands of educators’ rational scheme of things, habit-formation, consistency of supervised action, the pursuit of excellence, adaptability, regimen for educators and learners, contextualization to learners’ needs, social consciousness, vigor-lifestyle, a focus on choosing and executing right; not what is liked, student-centricity, work ethics, creativity, critical thinking, environmental awareness, contribution, quality management systems, service approach, hybrid yet value-driven learning, collaboration, esprit-de-corps, integrity, perseverance, commitment coupled with the mission- first attitude in the cause of excellence in boarding school education and community service thereby making leeway to systems installed into our days to ensure consistency of results, order, and superb outcomes.
To the enrolled and prospective students, Kasiga stands committed to unleashing opportunities that shall aid in knowing themselves, discovering their personal strengths via reflection and mentorship in a nurturing environment oriented to an intellectually satisfying experience thusly converging in making the wholesome persona, proviso, their guardians trust us in no uncertain terms.
