KASIGA SCHOOL'S WINTER SPORTS CAMP – CLOSING CEREMONY

The Winter Sports Camp at Kasiga School, Dehradun culminated with a heart- warming ceremony held in the school on Monday, the 19th of December, 2016.The ceremony commenced with the arrival and welcome of the Chief Guest _Shri Alok . B. Lal, IPS (retired) who served as Advisor to the honourable Governor of Uttarakhand and is currently a member of the CAG committee of Uttarakhand and the Executive Secretary of Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan, Dehradun Kendra. The Guest of Honour was Mr. Rajkumar Sharma, a Dronacharya Awardee and coach to Virat Kohli,. In his welcome speech, the master of ceremonies enumerated the various advantages of organizing such camps and how they build on the skills of the players. He thanked the school Chairman, Mr. Ramesh Batta, for having the vision to organize this camp and for regularly promoting sports in school in a big way. He said that, ‘This camp has indeed paved the way and prepared our players for many future victories. This camp may have come to an end, but has given wings to our will to persist.’After the formal welcome of all the guests by the Head of School, Dr Neeta Bali, , a video presentation showcasing the highlights of the camp was displayed. The presentation gave the audience a glimpse into the myriad and colourful activities that students were privileged to be a part of. This was followed by the distribution of certificates and prizes by the Chief Guest , guest of Honour .The Chairman, Mr. Batta, presented the specialized coaches with souvenirs, as a mark of gratitude and appreciation for their valuable inputs and guidance to the students in the camp. The elite coaches from all over the country who were integral to making the camp a success were:

Up next was a line-up of students, speaking eloquently about their enriching experience of the sports camp and throwing light on the various strategies that were employed by their coaches to hone their skills further. Each of them was absolutely enthralled by the way the camp had strengthened them and given them wings to soar higher in their chosen sport.The ceremony culminated with the Chairman, Mr. Batta, presenting the mementoes of heartfelt thanks to the Chief Guest and the Guest of Ho. The Chief Guest very eloquently articulated the importance of promoting sports at the grass root level in schools and commended the school on it’s efforts in promoting a strong culture of sports. The Chairman re-iterated his firm commitment to persevering in his effortS to build a sports community at Kasiga School . The programmme culminated with a vote of thanks to all who contributed to the success of the camp
