ALL INDIA P C BATTA MEMORIAL CRICKET TOURNAMENT

This grand competition features 14 teams from the states of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab and Haryana who will be competing for the coveted title of being the champions of this prestigious tournament. After the opening ceremony, the participating teams were acknowledged and heartily welcomed. The first match was a face-off between Woodstock School and Kasiga School.

ROTARIANS ADDRESS INTERACTORS OF KASIGA SCHOOL

Four eminent members of the Rotary Club, Dehradun visited Kasiga School and acquainted the students of the in-house interact club about the history, objectives and significance of the Club. Mr. Prem Bhalla elucidated the history of Rotary Club which was formed in Chicago in 1905 and now has 35500 wings and over 1.23 million members all over the world.

A Spic Macay performance at Kasiga School

Rama Vaidyanathan one of India's leading classical dancers and a renowned interpreter of the ancient art form of Bharatanatyam delivered a riveting performance at Kasiga School on 11th April, 2017.The performance was introduced to Kasiga School by the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture amongst Youth (SPIC MACAY).

ORIENTATION PROGRAMME 2017-2018

The orientation programme for new students and parents was organised during the day. Later in the evening,an ice-breaking session was held,the new students were engaged in various interesting games and activities that helped them in overcoming their inhibitions and developing a bond with current pupils.

TREKS 2017

Just to provide the students a much needed break after the final exams, Class 9 and 10 CBSE were taken to one of the most coveted tourist destinations---Chamba, which is a paradise in itself. The first day saw the orientation happen, followed by ice breaking activities. The second and third day was scheduled for trekking up to a certain point which entailed camping for a night in the forest.

Professional Development Programme For Staff

A two day workshop was organised comprising sessions on Lesson Planning and Effective use of communication which was conducted by a seasoned Educator from Delhi- NCR , Mrs. Manju Thareja she acquainted the teachers with the objectives and guidelines for making a Lesson Plan. The teachers were given templates and were asked to evolve lesson plans keeping in mind the Bloom's Taxonomy.

MAGIC SHOW AT KASIGA SCHOOL

Students from 4th to 9th grades witnessed the show. The show was conducted by Mr. V K Samrat, who is a renowned magician and works for Red Cross Society. This is a step forward in reviving the old arts . This also helps the Red Cross society to continue its philanthropic work by generating funds.All the students enjoyed the show and also got to learn a few tricks from the magician .

The staff of Kasiga took a break and went for a fun outing on 25th January. The staff spent a wonderful time together in the calm and peaceful surroundings of ‘Carbery Acres’. Inter House Cricket Tournament 2016

The tournament was played on the T 20 format and league matches.Amazon and Everest house qualified for the finals.Everest house scored 83 with all out,Amazon house chased the score and completed 84 runs and won the match by 4 wickets.Abhishek Sharma was declared best baller of the tournament. Siddharth Sakya was awarded with best batsman and Harry Wasa was declared Man of the tournament.

Organised by the Social Welfare Department of Uttrakhand at Parade ground.The boys of our school played sitting volley ball with the Uttrakhand Paralympic team. Kasiga School hosted the Rock School Examination; Mr. Matthew Willshaw officiated as the examiner and he was accompanied by Mr. Pranshu Shekhar, 16 students of the school and two external candidates appeared for the various grade exams: Drums, Acoustic Guitar and Bass Guitar. ACTIVITY BASED SCIENCE WORKSHOP

Mr. Jyoti Parruck from 'Bigyaan' conducted an activity-based science workshop for 31 students of grade 7. The workshop comprised two activities-making a parachute and using a pH indicator made from red cabbage.The workshop was cleverly designed to use students' own curiosities and allow them to be innovative and self-dependent, while ensuring that they learned in the process.

TREK TO KEDARKANTA BY STUDENTS OF CLASS 12

On March 31 morning, students of Class 12 proceeded for a trek to the Kedarkanta peak organized by the INME group. the group left for trekking to the Kedarkanta peak with great zeal and enthusiasm and covered the strenuous trek to 12500 feet in just 4 hours. It was a fun-filled adventure punctuated with challenging yet exciting moments.

Kasiga School organized the orientation programme for new students and their parents on Thursday, the 7th of April, 2016. All new members joining the Kasiga family were warmly welcomed in the ceremony held in the foyer. Dhanaulti Camp for classes 5th and 6th

Students of Grade 5th & 6th embarked on an adventurous educational trip to Dhanolti under the trained instructors of INME. There were 13 boys and 2 girls accompanied by three teachers. The trip mainly focussed on team building and survival in difficult situations. The kids got trained in steep climbing,rappling,rope course,Burma bridge etc. Overall, the trip was a new and great experience for the children.

FIRST AID AND MEDICAL DRILL AT KASIGA

Mr.Rohan Oberoi and Mr. Vimal Vasudev of Momentum India, an Indo-Australian organization that primarily works in the areas of health, safety, security and environment conducted a workshop on medical emergency and first aid in Kasiga on14th February 2016.It touched upon several medical exigencies and situations that occur and very often due to ignorance as well as negligence lead to crisis which can be managed easily if one has basic first aid training.
